Um die Bewertung möglichst ausführlich und dennoch übersichtlich zu machen, liste ich zunächst die positiven und negativen Punkte auf und gehe anschließend auf die einzelnen Punkte ein. Gekauft und getestet habe ich die 2x 20 kg Ausführung. Positiv: - Erstklassige Verarbeitung - Hervorragende Griffigkeit durch die ovale Form der Stange - Gutes Design - Beste Funktionalität durch die hexagonale Form - Kompakte Größe, da es keine Zwischenräume gibt - Gummi-Ummantelung der Gewichte, somit auch auf Parkett, Fliesen und ähnlichen Untergründen nutzbar - Outdoor geeignet - kein nerviges Loslösen der Gewichte während des Trainings Negativ: - Zu Beginn intensiver, jedoch nachlassender Gestank Neutral: - Feste, nicht austauschbare Gewichte Nun die Details: Diese Hanteln heben sich in mehreren Bezügen von herkömmlichen Hanteln ab, weswegen ich mich entschied, Hanteln dieser Art zu bestellen. Eins vorweg: Ich habe es nicht bereut! :-) Zunächst ist da die hexagonale Form: Durch diese liegen die Hanteln sehr stabil auf dem Boden, was es einem ermöglicht, darauf auch Übungen wie Liegestütze, fortgeschrittene Yoga-Figuren oder gar Handstände zu machen. Für mich als (Hobby-)Turner optimal! Die Fehlenden Zwischenräume, wie man sie von Hantelscheiben kennt, fallen hier vollkommen weg, weshalb der Durchmesser der Gewichte vergleichsweise sehr gering ausfällt und die Hanteln dadurch sehr kompakt und gut zu handhaben sind. Ebenfalls ein großer Pluspunkt! Die Stange ist in der Mitte etwas dicker als außen, weshalb sie sich perfekt an die Form der Handflächen anpasst und somit deutlich angenehmer und stabiler in der Hand liegt. Sie verrutscht auch dann nicht, wenn man sie um 90 Grad dreht und vertikal hält. Die Verarbeitung ist hervorragend. Sie sehen genauso gut aus wie auf den Bildern. Weder Macken, noch Kratzer oder sonstige Mängel konnte ich feststellen. Da sowohl die Gewichte, als auch die Stange geschützt sind (in dieser Ausführung ist die Stange ja schwarz lackiert), kann sie auch gut draußen verwendet werden. Die Form verhindert zudem, dass dabei Dreck in irgendwelche Zwischenräume gelangt. Ganz einfach weil es keine Zwischenräume wie bei Hantelscheiben gibt ;-) Die festen Gewichte bringen Vor- und Nachteile. Dadurch, dass sie fest mit der Stange verbunden sind, kann man sie (natürlich) nicht wechseln. Wenn man andere Gewichte haben will, muss man somit auch ganz neue Hanteln kaufen. Dafür bewegst sich jedoch nichts, alles ist fest und stabil. Und wer wirklich effektiv trainieren und nicht ständig die Hanteln umbauen will, der hat sowieso mehrere in verschiedenen Größen ;-) Nun zum einzig negativen Punkt. Die Hanteln haben am Anfang einen recht penetranten Gummi- oder Chemie-Geruch. Die Hanteln sind jedoch erst weniger Tage alt und der Geruch hat bereits stark nachgelassen. Sie haben einen leicht öligen oder fettigen Film auf der Oberfläche der Gewichte, ich vermute daher, dass dieser den Geruch verursacht. Ob es sich dabei nur um Restfeuchtigkeit handelt, oder ob dies eine Schutzschicht vorm Austrocknen oder zur optischen Aufbereitung (Stichwort: Politur) ist, kann ich jedoch nicht sagen. Eventuell täuscht es auch nur, da die Oberfläche des Gummis recht glatt ist. Eine Färbung oder sonstige Flecken hinterlässt sie jedenfalls nicht. Alles in allem haben sie meine Erwartungen voll und ganz erfüllt, oder gar übertroffen! Ich bin wirklich begeistert von diesen Hanteln! Sie mögen zwar nicht billig sein, aber ihr Geld sind sie definitiv wert! Ein Tipp: Es gibt sie auch in einer Ausführung mit verchromten Griffen vom selben Hersteller (Capital Sports). Diese unterscheiden sich zum Teil etwas vom Preis. Wenn einem die Farbe des Griffs nicht so wichtig ist, lohnt es sich, die Preise zu vergleichen. Ich habe diese hier (mit schwarzen Griff) genommen, weil diese zum Kaufzeitpunkt etwa 10 Euro günstiger waren. So, ich hoffe, ich konnte einigen helfen. In order to make the evaluation as detailed and yet clear as possible, I will first list the positive and negative points and then go into the individual points. I bought and tested the 2x 20 kg version. Positive: - First-class workmanship - Excellent grip due to the oval shape of the bar - Good design - Best functionality due to the hexagonal shape - Compact size, as there are no gaps - Rubber coating of the weights, so they can also be used on parquet, tiles and similar surfaces - Suitable for outdoor use - no annoying detaching of the weights during training Negative: - Intense, but decreasing stench at the beginning Neutral: - Fixed, non-replaceable weights Now the details: These dumbbells stand out from conventional dumbbells in several respects, which is why I decided to order dumbbells of this type. First of all: I have no regrets! :-) First of all there is the hexagonal shape: This means that the dumbbells are very stable on the floor, which makes it possible to do exercises such as push-ups, advanced yoga figures or even handstands. Perfect for me as a (hobby) gymnast! The missing spaces, as known from weight plates, are completely absent here, which is why the diameter of the weights is comparatively very small and the dumbbells are very compact and easy to handle. Also a big plus! The bar is slightly thicker in the middle than on the outside, which is why it adapts perfectly to the shape of the palms of the hands and is therefore much more comfortable and stable in the hand. It doesn't slip even if you turn it 90 degrees and hold it vertically. The processing is excellent. They look just as good as in the pictures. I couldn't find any quirks, scratches or other defects. Since both the weights and the bar are protected (the bar is painted black in this version), it can also be used outside. The shape also prevents dirt from getting into any gaps. Quite simply because there are no gaps like with weight plates ;-) The fixed weights have advantages and disadvantages. Due to the fact that they are firmly connected to the rod, you cannot (of course) change them. If you want to have different weights, you have to buy completely new dumbbells. But nothing moves, everything is fixed and stable. And if you really want to train effectively and don't want to constantly rebuild the dumbbells, you have several in different sizes anyway ;-) Now for the only negative point. The dumbbells have a rather penetrating rubber or chemical smell at the beginning. However, the dumbbells are only a few days old and the smell has already greatly diminished. They have a slightly oily or greasy film on the surface of the weights, so I suspect that's what's causing the smell. However, I cannot say whether this is just residual moisture, or whether this is a protective layer from drying out or for optical processing (keyword: polish). Maybe it's just deceptive, because the surface of the rubber is quite smooth. In any case, it does not leave any staining or other stains. All in all, they fully met my expectations, or even exceeded them! I'm really excited about these dumbbells! They may not be cheap, but they are definitely worth the money! A tip: They are also available in a version with chrome-plated handles from the same manufacturer (Capital Sports). Some of these differ somewhat in price. If the color of the handle is not so important to you, it is worth comparing prices. I took this one (with the black handle) because it was about 10 euros cheaper at the time of purchase.
